Psalm 17:15

“As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake, I shall be satisfied with your likeness.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭17:15‬ ‭ESV‬

David lived quite the dangerous life as a follower of God. He was constantly relying on the Lord’s strength and guidance to comfort him and protect him from the numerous enemies that he would face troughout his life. Throughout all the turmoil that he endured he was ultimately able to remain a servant of God, Psalm 17:5 ESV “My steps have held fast to your paths; my feet have not slipped.” So what does a servant of the Lord do when they are facing hardships? What do we do when the enemy is surrounding us? Seek the Lord’s face, and be content in the fact that we know he will come through for us, just like David always did. We are called to turn to God with all of our battles and find comfort in the fact that when we rely on his strength and his protection that he will provide for us. We will go through trials for our faith and during those trials it may seem difficult to look to the Lord and see him through the situation we are in. The enemy will seem too strong, the task will seem too tall, or the odds just may seem like they aren't in our favor. But that's when we know that God will show up. He will come swooping in and save the day like the hero he always strives to be for us. And he is just so good at doing that, being our hero. “They have now surrounded our steps; they set their eyes to cast us to the ground. He is like a lion eager to tear, as a young lion lurking in ambush.” Psalms‬ ‭17:11-12‬ ‭ESV‬‬. It is when we have the pressure all around us, the darkness closing in like a lion waiting to strike, the enemy coming after us with such a ferocity and wickedness that we don't know where to turn to. But through it all we know we can see the light of God shining through to us. That we can look to see his face, and know that he is right along side us, keeping up our guard and making sure that we are safe in his arms. So how can we not be content knowing that no matter what situation we are in, that our Lord is a God of saving, not a God of abandoning. For my application I'm going to at the end of the day write down all the things the God has saved me from today, including temptations, struggles, and lies from the enemy.
