2 Timothy 2:2

“And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

There are so many false teachers in this world that we live in. So many people that ruin the true doctrine of Christ's teachings. Because of these teachers, many people fail to focus on the gospel of Christ, fall into legalism, and are just deceived by teachings that are biblically untrue. Although there are so many false teachers in this world, nothing from God is untrue, and Christ’s truth has been spoken to many a people in this world, but few have truly heard it as God intended us to. Because of that fact, us few people are going to have to be able to teach God's truth effectively and truthfully. We must keep the focus on His truth and not our own. We can only do this with the guidance of the Spirit. Without Him we would be lost in ourselves and never be able to whole-heartedly speak God's truth. So we have a responsibility as disciples of Christ to truthfully teach God’s word. But what happens when we raise up disciples of our own? What happens when we are raising up a church, ministry, family, or anything else in Christ, and God calls us to move on in life? We have to leave behind the people we raised up, but who do leave in charge? We can't just leave the people we raised up without any direction or guidance. And yes the Spirit will be their guide while we are gone and we can find comfort in that, but we have to be sure to choose someone to lead them who we can trust. Who we know loves the Lord and we know is a reliable person that can be trusted. It is our responsibility to make sure that the people we brought up will have be able to lead those and that they won't misrepresent who Christ is. For my application I'm going to thank Colin for ministering to us in all the ways he has. Because in my opinion he has done it in a way befitting of our Lord and can be trusted by our leadership.
