1 Timothy 6:6-8

“But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:6-8‬ ‭ESV‬‬
Isaiah 40:13-14 ESV “Who has measured the Spirit of the Lord, or what man shows him his counsel? Whom did he consult, and who made him understand? Who taught him the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding?” ‭‭What in God’s omnipotence, omnipresence, and omniscience could we ever offer him that he doesn't already have or understand? Nothing. He ultimately gave us everything through creation because if it wasn't for creation we wouldn't even exist to experience this life. Then he gave us everything again when he paid for our salvation through the blood of his son, which guaranteed us eternity in Heaven. So how do we ever repay those debts? What do we need to do to thank him for the lives that he's given us? ‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:20‬ ‭ESV‬‬ “for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.” We are to serve our master with contentment. We receive happiness and joy in this lifetime by realizing that God has given us this life for a reason and when we come to realize what that reason is, we will find true contentment in whatever it is that we are doing. We don't need to worry about the things we have, the places we want to go to, or the people that we want to please. God created us for a purpose and it is when we are living for that calling and not in sin that we will find eternal contentment. We always get so caught up in what we think we want to do and what we think is best for our lives that we forget that there is a God who knows us infinitely more than we ever will and that he has created us for the best life that we can possibly live. 1 Corinthians 7:23-24 ESV “You were bought with a price; do not become bondservants of men. So, brothers, in whatever condition each was called, there let him remain with God.” Once when we realize that and see how amazing our life can be when we are serving our creator, our Alpha and Omega, what else could we live for that could be more fulfilling? The next time I feel like my life hasn't been fulfilling or the next time I am in a place where I feel I shouldn't be, I'm going to reflect on this verse and remember how much it took God to get me to this place and look forward to where he is going to be taking me, and be glad in the fact that I am living in accordance to his plan, because he created me and he knows what's best for me.
