Hebrews 11:6

“But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:6‬ ‭NKJV

The whole basis of Christianity is faith. Nothing can be accomplished as a Christian if you don't have faith. And faith isn't something that comes very easily. Throughout our lives, the faith that we put in others and things of this world always seem to let us down. Whether it's relying on friends, cars breaking down, family not following through on promises, no matter what the break of trust is, our trust of things becomes broken. Day in and day out, over and over again. You can't escape it in this world and you never will. And ironically that's exactly what God would have us do, trust him. For that is what faith in God is, trusting him. Trust that he is there for us and that he is providing for us, in all ways. But, God doesn't just give out free handouts, for he is a just God, and requires that we work for the things that he will provide us. Just look at the story of Noah. God tells Noah that he is going to flood the world and that he is going to show Noah how to build an arc that can not only withstand the flood and protect his family, but store all the animals of the Earth. I don't know about you but Noah must've had some crazy faith to believe that God was going to come through on all those promises. But he did have faith, and every single one of those promises came true, but not just because Noah had faith in God, but because he had the faith to continue to pursue God through his diligence in building the arc. God didn't just save Noah from the storm because he was a righteous man in God’s eyes, but because God knew that Noah had the diligence to do what God would call him to do. God knew that Noah had the faith to realize the opportunity that God had given him, and that he would seize that opportunity and succeed in it, no matter how outrageous the opportunity may have seemed. So we must do the same thing. As followers we must first put our faith in God, but then rise to the occasions that he calls us to. But as long as we do rise to those occasions, and do what he would ask of us, he will provide the means to be successful in what he calls us to do. So the next time I feel the spirit urging me to do something, whether it's serving a friend, saying hello to a stranger, praying for someone/ something, whatever it is, I will do it immediately and to the fullest of my ability, because I trust that God will give me the means to be successful in doing so.
