1 John 3:23

“And this is His commandment: that we should believe on the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment.” ‭I John‬ ‭3:23 ‭NKJV‬‬

Jesus purchased our lives with His sacrifice and has therefore granted us access into Heaven, saving us from an eternal life of damnation. All Christians know this as truth, and therefore know that we have security in Heaven. However, what about the rest of our lives spent here on Earth? “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” Ephesians‬ ‭2:10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. God has a specific calling for each and every one of our lives as Christians. There is a purpose that God has for us, and as long as we remain obedient to His commandants, He will be able to fulfill that purpose in our lives. However, just as we can see in the life of David, it doesn't always seem like that's going to be the case. God’s promises in our lives don't always seem possible, and at times they may even seem impossible. So how do we overcome these challenges? How do we overcome these problems, doubts, and circumstances that seem as mountains before us and keep us from obtaining the promises and completing the work in which God has given us? By believing in the name of Jesus of course, “the God of our salvation.” See while being on the field, the Lord has shown me how the glorious meaning of the name of Jesus isn’t just for our Heavenly salvation, but for the saving that we need each and every day. The grace, mercy, love, and power that we so desperately need from God in each step that we take with Him. “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” ‭John‬ ‭14:6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬. Jesus isn’t just the door that we walk through as Christians when we first get saved, but is the continued path that we walk down as we continue life. And as long as we remain in love and depart from wickedness, Jesus will never forsake us or leave us to handle life in our own strength, but rather will always abide with us. At times I feel as though things that God has promised me are no longer attainable. That the situation has changed too, greatly or that too, much time has passed for the promise to be fulfilled. But then I remember, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Hebrews‬ ‭13:8 NKJV. Jesus never changes. Even though so great a number of things vary in our lives, Jesus never does, and He is always willing to give us the strength that we need to hold on to His truth as long as we remain faithful to Him and to the commandments that He’s given us. For my application I'm going to write ‘Jesus “the continual God of our salvation”’ to remind me every time that I open my bible that Jesus is my salvation in everything every single day.
